Alabama – 2010

I reached Alabama in mid July of 2010 and stayed just for a few days in the Houston Campground at the William Bankhead National Forest in Northern Alabama.  It is along Highway 278 just west of Cullman.  It is a typical National Forest campground with hot showers and pump water.  There are no utility hook ups for RV’s but the campground was well kept and the hosts were very nice.  The most interesting thing was to be found in the nearby attractions: The Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman and the Old Houston Jail in Houston.
