Georgia – 2010

I headed north through Georgia from Florida just as spring was beginning in mid April of 2010.  I headed straight north to the Chattahoochie National Forest and Lake Russell.  It had been reccommended to me by a fellow camper at Ocean Pond in Florida and so I thought I would give it a try.  The campground was very woody with good sites and nice accomodations.  It does not have electric or water at the sites for RV’s but does have flush toilets and hot showers.  There are two loops, an upper and lower.  I stayed at the upper and although it was further from the lake it provided greater access to the hiking trails.
The only bad experience was the fact that it was still early in Spring and I was just about the only one in the campground.  After the bustle of the Florida campsites it was quite a change.
