Mississippi – 2010 and 2011

Mississippi has two of my favorite campgrounds:
– Clear Springs in the Homochito National Forest
– Big Biloxi in the Desoto National Forest

Clear Springs is in Central Mississippi just east of Natchez and has an upper and lower camping loop with utility hook-ups and also a primitive tent camping area.

It was voted one of the 10 best National Forest campgrounds and it is easy to see why.  Nice facilities including hot showers and a great price.  Several people that I have met on my trip have told me it is one of their favorite stops.

Big Biloxi is located about 10 miles north of Gulfport, Mississippi and is a small quiet campground with easy access to the Mississippi Gulf Beaches.  It has water and electric hook ups, tent pads and hot showers and is seldom crowded.  I had stopped there a couple of times on my way to and from South Florida.
