South Dakota – 2011

I made it to the Black Hills area of South Dakota in late June and found a great place to camp at Wind Cave National Park between Custer and Hot Springs.  It was centrally located and I used it for a base to visit Mount Rushmore and some of the other attractions in the area.  The campground was among the rolling hills and deer and buffalo would wander through every so often.  The park itself has tours of the cave along with many trails for hiking.  About the only drawback was the lack of hook ups and hot showers.

Awesome to see in person!
